Durian Cap Tupai is a stall along Jalan Paya Terubong in Relau.

And in recent years, the store has become famous for their flagship durian Tupai 226. This cultivar is in so high demand that finding it priced above musang king and black thorn has become the norm.

Even before that, they have already built a strong presence in that area of Penang. Regularly offering durian buffets during the season.

The patriarch, Mr Chew, has now taken on a more guidance role with his children managing the operations of the stall.

He spends more time experimenting with durian trees and hybrids.

There is also a newer branch in Ayer Itam near the junction of Jalan Paya Terubung and Lebuh Rambai 11 opened in 2026.

Cap Tupai used to have a branch at the super competitive durian arena that is Anjung Indah. The store operated until early 2026 before moving to the newer location.
